Status and Future of Process Mining: From Process Discovery to Process Execution

Abstract During the last two decades Process Mining has seen a rapid global adoption: first in academics and then corporate business. It evolved into foundational technology, allowing users to discover actual process flows with unprecedented transparency, speed, detail. In business environment no purpose of its own, but companies leverage it identify inefficiencies, improve execution ultimately drive value. discovery transparency does not provide immediate value, requires specific use cases combined human intelligence deploy levers for improvement. this article we argue that future focus evolution shall on lateral expansion - i.e. further processes discoveries vertically by enhancing depth added value artificial intelligence, proactive predictive enablement other which boost execution. essence, should be deploying smarter technologies driving areas where shown impact.
